VOLUNTEER FOR THE CITY OF PRINCE GEORGE

Make a difference in your community!

The City is seeking the expertise of residents interested in serving on the Prince George Heritage Commission.

The Commission meets quarterly and is responsible for undertaking heritage education and awareness activities, and reviewing and reporting to City Council and Staff on matters of heritage significance within the City.

The City is currently accepting applications to fill three (3) vacancies on the Commission as follows:

· One (1) position with a term ending

February 28, 2022; and

· Two (2) positions with terms ending

February 28, 2023.

Involvement with council committees, commissions, and boards provides residents the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our municipality and to provide input on important civic issues.

The Heritage Commission meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December, with meetings scheduled for Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. In addition to attendance at the quarterly meetings, interested applicants must be available to attend meetings of their assigned working groups and be willing to actively participate in projects the Heritage Commission undertakes throughout the year. Information on the Commission including its governing bylaw, application forms and details on the application process, are available on the City’s website.

Deadline for Applications: 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2021

Applications may be completed and submitted online (https://www.princegeorge.ca/committees), delivered to the Service Centre, 1st Floor, City Hall, at the address below, or emailed to cityclerk@princegeorge.ca.
